What do you off-duty carry guys think of the USA-made RevoMag? My travels are generally in low-threat environments, and some days I love reliving the revolver life. A Smith & Wesson M&P340 is my wheelgun go-to. Mine is outfitted with a Crimson Trace 405 laser grip to complement the S&W-installed XS 24/7 Tritium front sight.
In my left pocket, I tote either a Bianchi Speed Strip, HKS #36-A Speedloader, or an original, but now discontinued, S.L. Variant speedloader. For ease of carry, it’s usually the Speed Strip, which rides nice and flat in the pants. A Sticky Holsters rig sheaths the gun in my right front pocket. I am normally out and about in 5.11 tactical shorts for retirement, and they have ample front pockets for concealed carry.
While it had been on the market for over a year, this video was the first time I had seen the RevoMag. I like that the RevoMag carries up to eight .38 Special or .357 rounds for plenty of bangs. For my five-round snub, I carry six in the Speed Strip. It is also nice to have the carrier at the top of the pocket, not down at the bottom with my keys and other items. RevoMag also ships with a simulated cylinder with which to practice. That is a nice touch.
In addition to the standard version, there is a Filagree model with laser engraving and an OSS model done in cooperation with the Polite But Dangerous Tools website.

When I saw this video for the RevoMag, I was interested. The reload by the “actor” is practiced, but it seems reasonably quick. I thought I could go nearly as fast with a Speed Strip and somewhat faster with a Speed loader, but maybe it has merit. The $70.00 price tag was steep though, in my wallet’s opinion.
Is the RevoMag’s function and price worth it for an off-duty reloader? It would likely be a one-time-for-life buy for re-upping your gat. Let me know what you think.
