Ocala Police Officer Jared Forsyth, 33, was accidentally shot at the Lowell Correctional Institution range in Marion County this afternoon. \u00a0He was rushed to the Ocala Regional Medical Center, but he succumbed to his wound after being rushed into surgery. \u00a0The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating the training accident. \u00a0Ofc. Forsyth had been with OPD since April 16, 2012. \u00a0No further details were released at this time.<\/p>\n
