Wesson M&amp;P Bodyguard 380 at SHOT Show 2014 Media Day at the Range.\u00a0 I uploaded the short video above.\u00a0 Since I have carried a Bodyguard 380 both off duty and as a secondary firearm on duty for the last several years, it was a familiar platform to me.\u00a0 No one I observed had any failure with the M&amp;P 380&#8217;s at the range.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thinblueflorida.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Smith-Wesson-MP-Bodyguard-3803.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6972\" alt=\"Smith &amp; Wesson M&amp;P Bodyguard 380\" src=\"http:\/\/thinblueflorida.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Smith-Wesson-MP-Bodyguard-3803.jpg\" width=\"1764\" height=\"1471\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thinblueflorida.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Smith-Wesson-MP-Bodyguard-3803.jpg 1764w, https:\/\/thinblueflorida.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Smith-Wesson-MP-Bodyguard-3803-300x250.jpg 300w, https:\/\/thinblueflorida.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Smith-Wesson-MP-Bodyguard-3803-1024x853.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1764px) 100vw, 1764px\" \/><\/a>In the video, I bobbled the trigger reset after the second shot.\u00a0 As a weak defense, I will just testify that I had been shooting <em>a lot<\/em> of very different guns that day.\u00a0 It is a good reminder, though, that the Bodyguard<!--more--> 380 has a long, heavy trigger pull&#8211;like a revolver.\u00a0 You have to remember to give it a full cycle.\u00a0 I must have been in Glock reset mode when I shot it&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>This gun is little different from the original, except for less material at the dustcover.\u00a0 Removing the laser diode, batteries, and supporting polymer does not affect the gun&#8217;s balance.\u00a0 Though it looks like the Bodyguard 380 is a bit weightier at the front, the M&amp;P Bodyguard feels the same in the hand and has a similar overall weight.<\/p>\n<p>If deep concealment is your aim, and it probably is if you are carrying a .380 ACP for self defense, the new M&amp;P Bodyguard 380 is just a tiny bit smaller than its predecessor.\u00a0 It looks like you have more holster choices, too, since the M&amp;P Bodyguard should fit in Ruger LCP and Kel-Tec P3AT holsters that are form fitted.\u00a0 My original Bodyguard 380 does not fully seat in some of my Kel-Tec holsters because of its bigger nose.<\/p>\n<p>If you have no use for the integral InSight laser, then the M&amp;P is your model.\u00a0 No batteries to change and no buttons to push.\u00a0 Here is some of the previous material I have written about this gun:<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"New M&amp;P Bodyguard 380\" href=\"http:\/\/thinblueflorida.com\/?p=6611\" target=\"_blank\">ThinBlueFlorida.com&#8211;New Smith &amp;
