\"\"<\/a>In late October 2008, things were looking a little bleak for my political party.\u00a0 It seemed that there was a darkening cloud on the horizon that ultimately spurred me into action.\u00a0 I ran right out and bought an AR-15.<\/p>\n

I found a great deal on a new Rock River Arms LAR-15.\u00a0 It was less than $900.00, out the door.\u00a0 I was issued a RRA LAR-15 at work and I had been happy with that gun for the previous five years of service.\u00a0 I co-witnessed an old EOTech Holosight with a new Yankee Hill Machine flip-up rear sight on the top rail of my new rifle.\u00a0 A sling was affixed and the gun was all set.\u00a0 Some extra Teflon-coated magazines came a little later.<\/p>\n

Though I had an AR-15 and an MP-5 during duty hours, I needed to own<\/em> a tactical rifle.\u00a0 Another Assault Weapons Ban?\u00a0 Oh hell no.\u00a0 I shot SWAT qualification with that new AR and have put quite a few rounds through it since.\u00a0 Buyer\u2019s remorse?\u00a0 Never!<\/p>\n

Well, here we are again.\u00a0 The 2012 election is teetering.\u00a0 The President\u2019s statements about a return of the AWB have again surfaced.\u00a0 Scare tactics?\u00a0 Foreboding reality?\u00a0 Doesn\u2019t matter.\u00a0 I checked out the gun locker.\u00a0 Hmmm.\u00a0 Any last minute requirements?<\/p>\n

Not having unlimited funds, I try to strike a balance between what I want and what I actually need.\u00a0 I spied a serious equipment gap.\u00a0 With Speed, Aggression, and Surprise, I approached the laptop and fired off an order.<\/p>\n

My house gun, a Glock 23, was lacking a few 22 round magazines.\u00a0 An order went out to MidwayUSA for two more extended bullet holders.\u00a0 They arrived yesterday and I am quite happy.\u00a0 If a redux of the AWB comes to fruition, I am satisfied that I have all the hi-cap mags I can afford for my pistols.<\/p>\n

In 2008, the firearms industry hailed the President as the Top Gun Salesman of the Year.\u00a0 Four years later, I think he has become the Top Gun Salesman of his Term.\u00a0 With the possibility of future curtailments to our Second Amendment rights, I recommend making inventory adjustments of your own…on your way to the polls.<\/p>\n
