to maximize the functionality of their products, while maintaining a focus on cost efficiency.\u00a0 Because Garrett and his staff came to shield-making from other industries, he said they have an outside-the-box approach that has led to their aerospace construction techniques and innovative design touches.\u00a0 Garrett possesses a considerable understanding of firearms ballistics, a must in his position.<\/p>\n<p>Affixed to the wall of the office is an array of shot up shields.\u00a0 It serves as a reminder of <!--more-->why they do business.\u00a0 Garrett, an 82nd Airborne vet, took some of the samples down and showed me the ballistic capabilities of his work.\u00a0 Though hit with multiple rounds of either Level IIIa or III-rated projectiles, each shield survived without being penetrated.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thinblueflorida.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/IMG_0014.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2502\" title=\"IMG_0014\" src=\"http:\/\/thinblueflorida.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/IMG_0014.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1500\" height=\"1013\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thinblueflorida.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/IMG_0014.jpg 1500w, https:\/\/thinblueflorida.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/IMG_0014-300x202.jpg 300w, https:\/\/thinblueflorida.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/IMG_0014-1024x691.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/thinblueflorida.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/IMG_0015.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2506\" title=\"IMG_0015\" src=\"http:\/\/thinblueflorida.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/IMG_0015.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1500\" height=\"937\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thinblueflorida.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/IMG_0015.jpg 1500w, https:\/\/thinblueflorida.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/IMG_0015-300x187.jpg 300w, https:\/\/thinblueflorida.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/IMG_0015-1024x639.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px\" \/><\/a>The above shield is an unfinished Level IIIa test core shot up with over 25 pistol bullets and at least one shotgun slug for good measure.\u00a0 It remained undefeated, even in areas where several bullets impacted on nearly the same spot.<\/p>\n<p>I was loaned several sample shields in Level IIIa and III for T&amp;E, so I will be writing more about Venture Ballistics&#8217;
