A spring-loaded handle separates from the body for the plier function. Ambidextrous sliding side switches open the grip.\u00a0 The Jr.&#8217;s plier head is semi-needle nosed.\u00a0 In addition to standard squeezing duties, the jaws cut and strip wire at the base.<\/p>\n<p>The opposing end of Zilla has a flipper-initiated blade.\u00a0 The knife is part-serrated, and liner lock secured.\u00a0 Its modified spearpoint blade is 2.25&#8243; in length.\u00a0 Composition is 2CR13 stainless steel, at a RH of 51-53, with CRKT&#8217;s triple point serrations.<\/p>\n<p>This is the busy end of the tool, as it maintains the pocket clip and hex-bit receiver.\u00a0 The handle of the tool houses holders for slotted and Phillips screwdriver hex bits.\u00a0 These fit in<!--more--> the receiver at the knife\u2019s end.<\/p>\n<p>Though tough glass-filled nylon scales cover its stainless steel liners, the Zilla Tool Jr.&#8217;s intent is more general utility as opposed to hard use.\u00a0 The smaller blade and hex bits bear this out.\u00a0 The Jr. is nearly an inch shorter, and 4.8 oz&#8217;s lighter compared to CRKT\u2019s big Zilla tool.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thinblueflorida.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/IMG_0482.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2453\" title=\"IMG_0482\" src=\"http:\/\/thinblueflorida.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/IMG_0482.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1500\" height=\"1026\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thinblueflorida.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/IMG_0482.jpg 1500w, https:\/\/thinblueflorida.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/IMG_0482-300x205.jpg 300w, https:\/\/thinblueflorida.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/IMG_0482-1024x700.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/thinblueflorida.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/IMG_0483.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2454\" title=\"IMG_0483\" src=\"http:\/\/thinblueflorida.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/IMG_0483.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1500\" height=\"1248\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thinblueflorida.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/IMG_0483.jpg 1500w, https:\/\/thinblueflorida.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/IMG_0483-300x249.jpg 300w, https:\/\/thinblueflorida.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/IMG_0483-1024x851.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px\" \/><\/a>I take the Zilla Tool Jr. with me in my pack when hiking and also in my seat bag when cycling.\u00a0 On either trail, it augments the necessities I already have at hand without being a burden.
