K9 Bretagne (said Brittany) was deployed to Ground Zero in 2001. She was overcome by old age and health problems this week and was put to sleep. She was the last known 9/11 search and rescue dog. Owner/handler Denise Corliss walked her through an honor guard of Cy-Fair firefighters in Harris, Texas. Bretagne served as a SAR Task Force 1 dog and later with local fire departments.
